Nifty was ruling at5233.15, gaining 10.4 points or 0.20 per cent. The NSE benchmark opened thesession at 5223.90 against Monday’s close of 5222.75. In the early minutesof trade, the 50-share moved between 5250.15 and 5221.65.

NEWDELHI: Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday said it has reported a 13.21percent jump in its total automotive sales in April at 26,043 units comparedwith 23,004 units in the corresponding period lastyear.
Domestic sales during themonth stood at 25,037 units as against 22,617 units in the year-ago period, up10.70 percent, the company said in astatement.
Exports during themonth stood at 856 units compared with 387 units in the same month last year,which is up overtwo-fold.

Other companies like Tata Motors saw a whopping 44% increase in sales as compared to April 2009, TVS Motor Co, India's third largest two wheeler maker, said two-wheeler sales in April rose 28%. Cleary, the automobile sector has been on a high for a long time now and experts believe same will be the scenario even in the few months to come.
