And what kindof price appreciation you see in both of them in the foreseeablefuture? They are quite cheap. Tata Motors is trading atroughly 10 times current year's earnings which is probably the cheapest of anygrowth company in the entire large cap universe and unless we seen an absolutemeltdown in the domestic CV business or that, there are huge problems likeToyota. They should be doing okay and Bajaj Auto is chugging along absolutelywell, they are on target. So these two stocks will at least not make you wake upin the middle of the night.

Thefirst decade of the present century is a watershed in the annals of Indian steelindustry. The global recession and the severe financial meltdown in late 2007completed the process of shifting the fortunes of global steel from the advanceddeveloped markets of USA, EU, Japan, South Korea and Russia to East and SouthAsia. It is heartening to note that the current growth in global steelconsumption and production is driven by only China and India.
In2009, the global crude steel production had dipped by 8.7% compared to previousyear and the major steel-producing countries such as the USA, Germany, Russia,Brazil, Japan and South Korea had witnessed a drop in production as high as26-36%. China experienced a growth of 13.5%, followed by India’s2.7%.
The latest projection of steel consumption by the World SteelAssociation shows that while India with a consumption of 45.6 million tonnes in2006 occupied the fifth position among the top 10 countries, it would move up tothird position in 2011 with 71.6 million tonnes of finished steel. A number ofmajor players are coming forward to tie up with Indian counterparts to producevalue-added steel to cater to the growing demand in the country.
