The 48-year-old resigned from Tata Motors on May 17 ashead of its passenger car division, ending his 27-year stint, after a series ofhigh-level new appointments at the carmaker that sparked speculation that theexisting Tata Motors management was feeling left out. Mr Dube could not bereached for comments. He is scheduled to join the Aditya Birla Management Corpfrom July 1.
Aditya Birla HR head Santrupt Mishra said the grouprecently created a position for an experienced professional who had spent timein manufacturing and was well-versed with world-class manufacturing practices.“We had been looking for the right incumbent to fill it. Mr Dube has therequired width of experience in such areas,” he told ET. This is thesecond time that a high-profile auto industry expert is joining the Birlas. In2009, Ford Motors veteran Phil Martens moved into the Mumbai-headquartered groupas the chief operating officer of Novelis, the Atlanta-based specialty aluminummaker the Birlas had acquired in 2007.

NEW DELHI: Carnation Auto, amulti-brand car service initiative by ex-Maruti Suzuki chief Jagdish Khattar,today launched a servicing facility for premium cars in Gurgaon in associationwith Fiat Group firm Magneti Marelli.
Along with Carnation Auto, the4.5-billion euro Magneti Marelli also announced its foray into India's spareparts aftermarket to sell and distribute co-branded autocomponents.
"When we started our business of multi-brand servicing in2008 for entry-level cars, people with luxury cars kept telling me to start itfor their products also. We didn't have the competence, so we tied up withMagneti Marelli last year and we are starting it today," Carnation Auto chairmanand managing director Jagdish Khattar told reporters here.
