After the incident of Parkwood International School director Mohammed Salahuddin Ayub allegedly raping a class XI student came to light, an auto-rickshaw driver is alleged to have raped an LKG student under the Falaknuma police limits.
Though the incident took place two days back, it came to light only on Friday. Falaknuma police inspector S Mohan Reddy told Express that the accused, 22-year-old Mohammed Anwar is alleged to have raped the girl while driving her home in Bibi Ka Chashma locality. Though there were other students whom Anwar used to pick up and drop, the victim used to be dropped last. According to police, the child is alleged to have been raped in the auto at an isolated place. “Anwar had been engaged to pick up and drop the victim 15 days ago,’’ the inspector said.
The victim was taken to a private hospital where doctors confirmed that the child had been raped. The parents lodged a complaint at the Falaknuma police station suspecting that the auto driver could be involved in the offence. Based on the complaint, police arrested Anwar and he confessed to the crime. A case under section 376 IPC has been registered.
India's second largest two wheeler maker Bajaj Auto said that its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30 more than doubled to INR 590.15 crore on the back of impressive sales.
The company said its net profit in the corresponding quarter last year was at INR 293.49 crore. This is the fourth time in a row that the company has reported its best quarterly results.
Bajaj Auto said that during the April to June period, the total income increased by 66.35% to INR 3,890.06 crore compared to INR 2,338.47 crore in the year-ago period.
