Dumper Truck Oil Tanks
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Federal investigators said Friday that a suspicious fire that damaged construction equipment at the site of a future mosque in Tennessee was arson and offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The future mosque in Tennessee, like other houses of worship for Muslims across the country, has been drawn into a fierce debate surrounding a proposed Islamic community center two blocks from Manhattan's ground zero, and opponents are becoming even more hostile and aggressive.
The construction site arson frightened members of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro. Firefighters had said there was a strong smell of diesel from the fire that engulfed the cab of a dump truck last weekend, and authorities found fresh fuel pooled under a second dump truck, according to an incident report from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department.
Still, authorities did not officially rule the fire an arson until laboratory tests on samples from the burned dump truck tested positive for accelerants.
Aquaculture is the principle method of fish farming. It involves raising fish in tanks or enclosures. Commonly referred to as a “fish hatchery,” the facility releases young fish into the wild to replenish a depleted or threatened native population.
Richmond Hill’s hatchery was constructed in 1936. Since then, the 87-acre fish farm has grown to include 38 production and rearing ponds. Also, there are three ponds for kids’ fishing events. Water covers 18.8 acres at the site on Hwy. 144.
The Richmond Hill Hatchery currently raises eight types of fish. Each spring, wild brood stock is collected from inland reservoirs and sent to Richmond Hill. At the hatchery, eggs are hand-stripped from females, fertilized with sperm and hatched in special jars.
The eggs are stirred and water added to activate the fertilization process. It takes only 44 hours for the eggs to hatch. A week later the newly hatched fry are either stocked in grow-out ponds or shipped to other facilities.
The Oconto Falls police chief says it appears to be vandalism. Authorities believe the oil leaked from the old Drews building on Ralph Lemorande Drive after someone intentionally punched holes in two holding tanks.
A sparkle of excitement flashed across their tender faces as their eyes lit on on a fully-loaded garbage truck, with leachate dripping along its trail.
About 20 of them, aged between five and 15, rushed towards the truck that was about to park in front of the mountain of rubbish that is the Bukit Beruntung landfill.
Landfill manager Chee Po, a tanned, well-built, snowy-haired man, waved his hands to help position the truck, while shouting to disperse the children who had started mobbing the gigantic machine.
The children, with some men and women, soon secured for themselves the best spots so that they could grab whatever that would soon be unloaded from the truck.
