Those numbers don’t tell the whole story, however, as the new truck still follows behind the Ford in payload and towing capability. The new Duramax Silverado HD can tow up to 20,000 lbs and has a payload rating of 6,335 lbs. The F-Series Super Duty is rated at 21,600 lbs and a payload rating of 6,520 lbs.
GM is proud to boast that fuel economy with the new engine has been increased by 11 percent (although not mpg numbers are available), with a total driving distance of 680 miles on a tank.
As for the new base Vortec 6.0L V8, it gets 360-hp at 5400 rpm and 380 ft-lbs of torque at 4200 rpm. A total of 90 percent of the engines torque is available from 2000 rpm allowing for a 13 percent increase in fifth-wheel towing for a total tow rating of 14,700 lbs.

The crash, reported about 8 a.m. at county Highway PP and Prairie Road, ruptured the diesel tanks on both semis, spilling fuel into the ditch and over a live electrical transformer box on which one semi came to rest, said Sgt. Blaine Spicer. The roadway was closed for cleanup for several hours and reopened later in the day.
Spicer said the driver of the SUV, Timothy Christensen, 45, of Plymouth, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, as was the driver of the rear semi, Steven Guelig, 51, of Cascade, who suffered minor leg injuries and a bruise to the head.
The driver of the front semi, Justin Simon, 27, of Fond du Lac, complained of back and neck pain but was not taken to a hospital. A dog that was riding with Christensen ran away after the crash and had not been located as of Tuesday evening.

MANILA, Philippines - Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has gone through various marketing campaigns in the past, each of which promoted key characteristics of its products such as fuel-efficiency, durability, reliability and so forth. This year, IPC ups the ante by combining all of their key product traits in a four-fold marketing campaign that will span the entire calendar year. Entitled “Isuzu Diesel Mission”, it was outlined to fleet customers, dealer principals, government officials and members of the media last March 4 at One Esplanade in Pasay City.
The Mission for 2010 The Isuzu Diesel Mission is a four-fold marketing campaign consisting of: Dura Mission, Farthest Mission, Eco Mission and Dyna Mission. Each of these components highlights Isuzu’s widely accepted leadership in diesel technology both in the Philippines and around the world. The first component, Dura Mission, reminds the public of Isuzu vehicles’ durability, toughness and power. IPC intends to do this via customer testimonials, media reviews, sponsored events and the publication of Isuzu’s sales history both here and abroad.
The second component, Farthest Mission, sees Isuzu’s various diesel vehicles undergoing actual demonstrations of toughness and practicality. This includes 4x4 driving clinics, mall tours and sales/service caravans. But the biggest highlight is the return of the Isuzu Challenge, which will have various Isuzu vehicles running on a single tank of fuel through major cities in Luzon. There will be three Isuzu Challenge legs this year. The first will feature the NHR truck in May, then the Crosswind in July and lastly, the D-MAX in October.
