All models feature digital fire control systems with laser range-finders, fully stabilized main gun and coaxial machinegun and night vision equipment (first vehicles used a Low-Light Level TV system or LLLTV, thermal imaging was introduced later on). The tank has the ability to engage moving targets while moving over rough terrain. It can drive through water 4 meters deep using a snorkel or 1.2 meters without any preparation and climb vertical obstacles over 1 meter high. Quiet developments in Turkish-Vietnamese relations - Today's Zaman

Some officials from a think tank called the Institute for Africa and Middle East Studies (IAMES), which is active in Vietnam, had the opportunity to tour Ankara recently. Representatives from the organization have been coming to Turkey since last year, and this year's delegation included Mr. Bui Nhat Quang, Ms. Ha Thi Hong Van, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang and Ms. Nguyen Thi. While here, they present ideas from Vietnam and take the pulse of current events here in Turkey.

Over the past ten years, Turkey has become much more active in its relations with the rest of the world. It is quickly developing relationships with countries in the Balkans, the Caucasus region, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and now Asia. Turkish-Vietnamese relations are among those quietly changing. Vietnam is a rapidly developing country. Despite the wars it has experienced in the past, Vietnam is looking towards the future with confidence. It is displaying more and more stability in the economic arena. An important advantage for Turkey's relations with Vietnam is that these two countries have never had any political problems. The biggest problem that presents itself in terms of the development of trade and economic relations between Turkey and Vietnam is the geographic distance between the countries, which of course means high freight and transport prices.

Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Vietnam began in 1978. The Turkish Embassy in Hanoi became active in 1997, while Vietnam opened up its consulate in ?stanbul in 2001, and its embassy in 2003. An agreement memorandum to pave the way for the establishment of a political consulting mechanism between the foreign affairs ministries of Turkey and Vietnam was signed in Ankara in 2005. The first high level political consultation meeting took place between the two countries, within the framework of the agreement, in January in Hanoi. At this meeting, a shared action plan covering the years 2010-2012 and aimed at further political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries was signed. The fact that Turkish Airlines began flights in December 2010 from ?stanbul to Ho Chi Minh City has helped boost movement between the trade centers of Turkey and Vietnam. While trade volume between the two countries was 29 million dollars in 2000, it had risen to 857 million dollars in 2010.

When one actually considers the economic potential of Vietnam, with its population of 90 million, and Turkey, with its population of 75 million, these numbers are actually quite low, though they show a tendency towards growth. At the same time, most of the foreign trade between the two countries tends to be at Turkey's disadvantage, and thus Turkey's trade gap imbalance with Vietnam increases every year. Though Turkey has been increasing its exports to Vietnam, the level of imports from Vietnam is rising more quickly, leading to a greater and greater imbalance.

Indian N-plants have design strength: Expert - Deccan Chronicle

In just three hours after the earthquake hit the Sumatra Islands on December 26, 2004, Kalpakkam-based Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) experienced its first tsunami.

Following the Fukushima event in Japan, safety measures across all nuclear power stations in the country have gone up. Now, apart from the emergency diesel generators and firefighting pumps, they are fitted with additional hookup points to pump water to boilers.

Subsequent to tsunami, improvements such as tsunami bund of boulders as part of Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) outfall channel has been added in MAPS. This will absorb considerable energy from the ocean waves and result in lesser wave height when it reaches the shore.

Apart from seismically re-evaluating all MAPS units, all emergency power equipment, de-aerator storage tank and piping have been strengthened from severe earthquake consideration viewpoint.

Chennai to Mumbai in one tank - the new A6 - Gaadi.com

The Indian market has opened up considerably in recent times and the demand for luxury cars has witnessed an upward trend with a concurrent rise in people’s spending power. However , with petrol prices ever on the rise , the fuel question confronts all luxury car buyers as well. Even if they buy those excellent machines , will driving them around be an affordable proposition? Well , we at Car India are always happy to tackle such issues. Therefore , we decided to check for ourselves how efficient a luxury sedan can be.

The idea was conceived when Aspi drove the A6 for the first time in Sicily , where Audi claimed this car to be highly efficient. We decided to figure out how long it would go in just One tankful of fuel. Diesel was the obvious choice , since oil burners are increasingly being preferred to petrol cars. We decided upon the Marina Beach in Chennai as our starting point , from where we would drive to the Marine Drive in Mumbai. In other words , from the south-east coast to the west coast of the country.

A rough calculation showed us that we had 1 , 350 kilometres to cover in a tankful , that is , 75 litres of diesel. A challenging task indeed. The journey required us to drive the car in real world conditions (unlike the test rollers on which the Automotive Research Association of India calculates efficiency) and tackle everything from chaotic traffic , toll-booths , food halts , uphill/downhill stretches and low-visibility driving at night and still achieve about 18 km per litre to meet the challenge. Aspi was quite confident about the efficiency of Audi's 2.0-litre oil burner and decided to drive all the way himself. i decided to drive the back-up Q5 and so flew down to Chennai to undertake this memorable drive.

The A6's diesel tank filled up to the brim and with tyre pressures checked , we left Chennai at 3.30 am. The initial three hours of drive was in poor visibility with our eyes still refusing to remain wide open. After about 300 km on the trip meter , we decided to take our first quick halt for a cup of coffee. It was rather a must to ward off sleepiness. A cup of strong coffee later , we were back on the road. The task at hand was to continuously keep monitoring the on-board computer that displayed a lot of information , including how many kilometres had been travelled , how much fuel had been consumed , what was the overall efficiency so far , what was the instantaneous efficiency being delivered and the approximate range that the car had before running out of fuel.
